Gail Reid operates the www.gailreidartist.com website, which facilitates the provision of "the Service", and subscription to the Mailing List. Also occasionally the submission of entries into a competition or giveaway draw.
This page is used to inform website visitors regarding my policies on the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use my Service, subscribe to my Mailing List, or enter my competition or giveaway draw.
If you choose to use my Service, subscribe to my Mailing List, or enter my competition or giveaway draw, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation with this policy. The Personal Information that I collect is used for providing and improving the Service, as a distribution list for my newsletter (and occasional offers, discounts, and information), and to construct a list from which to select a winner. I will not use, share, or sell your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.
The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in my Terms and Conditions, unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.
Information Collection and Use
In order to provide you with my Service, I need you to provide me with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your name, phone number, email and postal address. The information is collected explicitly during the purchase process, and will be used to contact and identify you, and to ship the product to you.
In order to distribute messages to my Mailing List, and in order to pick a competition/draw winner, I need you to provide me with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your name and email address. The information is collected explicitly during subscription/entry process. The winner's name is announced on all channels where the competition/draw can be entered.
Reference Photos
When you provide me with reference photos, I create a folder in my Google Drive, entitled with your name. For the Google Privacy Policy, see here . If necessary I will provide you with a ‘sharing link’ so you can access the contents. This allows us to exchange images relating to your order without large (data) emails, and for me to keep a record of my catalogue of work. For both convenience and security, this is my preferred way of sharing and storing images, but I try to use whatever channel is convenient for you, which for many customers is WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or email. I access these services from various devices, and the services may be automatically backed up to storage facilities beyond my knowledge and control. So however careful I may be, it would be impossible to provide a comprehensive guarantee that any photos sent to me could never find their way into the public domain.
If you provide me with information or photographs as a basis for a commissioned artwork, then you should assume that I may share the reference photo, progress shots, and commission on my online galleries (website, facebook, and instagram). Where the material is clearly sensitive (typically images of people, or gifts that may yet be a surprise) I would always endeavour to double-check and retain explicit consent, but there is a risk that consent may not be sought or retained. Payment for a commission via the ordering process includes confirmation that you accept my Terms and Conditions, and as such is taken as consent that you are happy with this approach. I may also share images directly, or in a flyer/advert, with prospective customers (as examples).
Most customers are very happy for this to happen, but if you are in any way uncomfortable with it, please let me know before ordering. I will take extra precautions to ringfence your information/images, not share them, and at the end of our engagement will happily delete the folder and its contents.
Log Data
I want to inform you that whenever you visit my website, I collect information that your browser sends to me that is called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser version, pages of my website that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.
Cookies
Cookies are files with small amount of data that is commonly used an anonymous unique identifier. These are sent to your browser from the website that you visit and are stored on your computer’s hard drive.
This website uses these “cookies” to collection information and to improve my Service. You have the option to accept these cookies as a prerequisite for entry to the website.

My server is located in the USA, so data is effectively exported from the EU. Squarespace (my website build tool provider) is registered with privacyshield.gov.
Security
I value your trust in providing me your Personal Information, thus I am striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and I cannot guarantee its absolute security.

My Service may contain links to other sites. If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. Note that these external sites are not operated by me. Therefore, I strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of these websites. I have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
Children’s Privacy
My Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. I do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. In the case I discover that a child under 13 has provided me with personal information, I immediately delete this from my servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided me with personal information, please contact me so that I will be able to take necessary action. If you provide me with information or photographs of your charges as a basis for a commissioned artwork, then you should assume that I may share both the reference photo and commission on my online galleries (website, facebook, and instagram). I would always endeavour to double-check and retain explicit consent, but there is a risk that consent may not be sought or retained. Payment for a commission is taken as consent that you are happy for the reference photo and resulting artwork to be shared.

I may update my Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, I advise you to review this page periodically for any changes. I will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately, after they are posted on this page.
